About a Voice Activated Recorder
A voice activated
recorder is an advanced electronic gadget which is designed in such a way that it turns on every time someone
speaks up. Due to the fact that these recorders are meant for recording intermittent activity one is saved a lot
of trouble of recording the silent parts as well and then wading through them to find the requisite bit of
information.
The voice
activated recorder originated 130 years ago and was a bulky device which was associated with the invention of
the phonograph. Having been designed to serve only commercial purposes initially, this recorder went through a
series of innovative stages like soft vinyl discs, reel-to-reel tape, compact cassette and mini cassette to
finally evolve into a soft and compact device which is totally different from its predecessors.
Voice activated
recorders are popular in a number of professions which involve taking dictation, attending lectures or
conducting interviews. This is due to two reasons the first of which is that this recorder can be operated to
record only the conversation thus saving one the time which lapses in between. Secondly, once the device is set,
it can run on its own without supervision and therefore can be left behind.
Voice activated
recorders can be used for a number of useful applications and one of the most popular modes of using this device
is to record phone conversations. A more creative usage would be to use this recorder to compile a personal
audio diary, recording your singing, recording the voices of family members, engaging in paranormal
investigations and recoding spooky sound clips meant for scaring others.
However, while
using a voice activated recorder, one needs to be aware of the lag time between the instant when the first word
is spoken and the instant when the recording commences as it is a common problem to lose the first word when the
recording is made.
